ABOUT
NISA INITIATIVE
We are a women-led initiative challenging patriarchy and creating equal, safe spaces worldwide.

Empowering Women to Dream
Who We Are
NISA means both “Woman” and “Dream.” We are a registered organization under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. Our mission is simple: ensure that every woman has the freedom to dream and the power to live those dreams.
Our Approach: Hotspots
We work through regional Hotspots — focused areas where we refine our models of change. Once they succeed, we replicate them across communities to grow our impact.
Our Mission
To build safer, more equal communities by breaking down patriarchal norms and empowering women, children, and men to create lasting change.

Amish Agrawal
President
Hi guys, my name is Amish, just somebody dedicated to building a safe place for women and children. I’ve always been a strong advocate for women’s rights, and I see parallels between the queen’s power in chess and the position women should hold in society. Besides this, I am a business analyst and involved in a few startups, bringing my leadership skills and ability to get things done end to end. When I’m away from Nisa, you might find me reading, writing, cooking, at the gym, racing on the highways or playing my guitar.

Gauri Singh
Vice President
Hi, I’m Gauri — a fashion and communication design student with a sharp eye for systems, stories, and spaces. Currently serving as Vice President at Nisa, I blend creativity with structure to design meaningful programmes that drive impact. You’ll usually find me buried in blueprints or colour palettes — basically designing the design of things.

Amrita Tripathy
Associate Vice President
As the Associate Vice President at NISA, I’m someone who finds purpose in people- understanding them, collaborating with them, and working together to create something meaningful. With a strong interest in HR and community building, I thrive in spaces where creativity meets impact. NISA has given me the platform to lead with empathy, build genuine connections, and drive meaningful change. For me, it’s not just about roles or responsibilities- it’s about creating a culture where people feel heard, valued, and inspired to grow.

Ishika Yadav

I’m Ishika Yadav, a 21-year-old English undergraduate student, currently serving as the General Secretary and one of the core team face of the NISA initiative (Network for Initiating Safety and Action). Coming from a background in literature and grassroots organizing, I’ve always been driven by the power of storytelling and community-based change. At NISA, I lead PR, Story-writing, and volunteer coordination, working closely with both on-ground and digital teams to drive impactful gender-sensitization efforts. Beyond NISA, I’m deeply involved in creative writing and youth advocacy—passions that help me connect with people and amplify voices that often go unheard.
